- Q: What kind of work do you transcribe?
A: We can transcribe many different types of recordings including interviews, conference calls, legal discussions, medical, financial, academic, media, business, research, podcast, tv show, focus groups. Anything you record with 1300 Record can be transcribed with a click of a button.
- Q: Where are your transcribers located?
A: The vast majority of our transcribers are located in Australia. In rare circumstances, such as an urgent overnight request, an Australian expat living overseas may be allocated a job.
- Q: Do you outsource your work?
A: We have partnered with some well known Australian transcription companies.
- Q: What format of audio will you transcribe? What if I have a tape, CD, video or DVD?
A: Currently we transcribe the MP3 audio files that have been created on the 1300 RECORD system. In the future we plan to provide the ability to upload any type of audio file.
- Q: How do I know you’ll keep my information confidential?
A: 1300 RECORD takes confidentiality seriously. Our transcription partners are experienced practitioners who understand the critical importance of confidentiality. In addition, we require our transcription partners to sign confidentiality agreements.
- Q: I'm interested. How do I get started?
A: The first step is to create a 1300 RECORD account and start recording. Once a recording has been stored in your inbox it can then be transcribed.
- Q: What kind of notifications will I receive?
A: You will receive notifications via email. The first notification is received on submission. You may receive an query email from the transcriber if they require something to be clarified. Once the transcription is complete, you will receive a final email notification.
- Q: How do I pay for the transcription?
A: If you have a pre-paid account you will be billed when file is submitted for transcription. Post paid accounts will be invoiced at the end of the month.
- Q: Can you handle large projects?
A: Yes. We partner with some of the biggest transcription providers in Australia and they have the capability to handle large projects.
- Q: What turnaround can 1300 RECORD provide on my transcripts?
A: You can choose from a range of turnaround times. We offer same day turnaround through to 7 day turnaround.
- Q: Do you provide translation services?
A: Our transcribers can process some foreign languages. Special instructions should be supplied by you when the file is submitted.
